The image depicts a scene of extensive urban destruction in Khan Yunis, Palestinian Territory, under a partly cloudy, pale blue sky indicative of late afternoon or early evening light.

In the foreground on the right, the shattered remains of a building, likely the vantage point, show exposed rebar, fractured concrete, and impact marks on a tan wall. A curved, rusted metal railing is partially visible.

To the left and center, a multi-story apartment building, approximately six to seven stories tall, exhibits severe damage. Its tan and brown facade is pockmarked with numerous impact holes, windows are blown out, and large sections of the upper floors and roof are missing or collapsed. Black charring is visible on some sections, suggesting fire damage. At its base, a makeshift shelter made of tarp and metal stands on dirt.

Further down the central street, a partially destroyed mosque is visible. Its minaret, while damaged, remains largely intact, towering over the rubble of the main mosque structure behind it. Beyond this, further collapsed buildings are apparent.

The two-lane paved road running through the center shows some debris but appears passable. On the left side of the road, a group of approximately 10-15 individuals, including adults and several children, walk away from the viewer. Many of the adults wear head coverings. Further down the road, near the mosque, another smaller group of people walks. A white sedan or SUV is present in the right lane, also moving away from the viewer.

The unpaved shoulders of the road and areas between buildings are covered in extensive piles of building rubble, concrete fragments, twisted rebar, and miscellaneous debris. A street light pole stands near the center of the scene. Electrical wires are visible hanging from the foreground structure and attached to the street light pole.
