This image shows a densely populated makeshift camp in the city of Khan Yunis, Palestinian Territory, built on unpaved ground consisting of sand, dirt, and significant amounts of rubble and debris. In the foreground, within a partially enclosed area, three individuals are present. Two adult females, dressed in dark clothing and head coverings, stand facing each other, jointly manipulating a large, dark green tarp or fabric. A third individual, with dark hair, is crouching behind the tarp to the right, also assisting in its manipulation. The enclosure itself is formed by makeshift walls constructed from various materials, including a blue patterned tarp, a dark patterned rug, and two light-colored rectangular panels in the foreground. Another dark red patterned rug is draped over the lower section of these front panels. On the ground near the individuals, a blue plastic bowl, a pink plastic basin, a metal bowl containing items resembling small fish, a striped mat, and other miscellaneous small objects are visible. To the right of this activity, a beige fabric tent is set up, next to which stands an upright blue plastic barrel and several white plastic containers. Further back, a large white cylindrical plastic water tank with a blue cap is visible, alongside a smaller light-colored rectangular structure. The background is filled with numerous temporary shelters and tents of varying sizes, predominantly constructed from white or light-colored tarps and fabrics. These shelters are closely packed together, and some have additional tarps draped over them. Extensive areas of rubble, concrete fragments, and scattered debris are evident throughout the camp, particularly behind the foreground enclosure and extending into the upper-right portion of the image. Items of clothing or fabric are visible hanging near some of the shelters.
