Psalm 28 is a prayer to the Lord. It asks for mercy and for God not to hide his face or reject his servant. Even if forsaken, the Lord will receive. The psalmist asks to be led in a straight path, protected from oppressors and false accusations, remaining confident of seeing the Lord's goodness. It concludes with a call to wait for the Lord, to be strong and take heart. The psalmist pleads for a response, fearing silence and likening it to descent into the pit.
