The image depicts a dense urban residential area in Khan Yunis, Palestinian Territory, viewed from an elevated perspective. The scene is dominated by multiple multi-story buildings constructed primarily of beige/tan material with reddish-brown vertical sections and decorative white lattice patterns around windows. In the immediate foreground, to the left and right, are the facades of two such buildings. The left building shows numerous windows, some open, some with clothes hanging from them, and a closed blue roll-down gate at ground level. The right building exhibits significant structural damage, including a large, irregular dark opening where a window once was, and other windows covered with tarps or debris. Its exterior walls show visible impact damage. Between these foreground buildings, and extending into the background, lies a large unpaved area of sandy, dirt ground heavily strewn with rubble, twisted metal, and burnt debris. Within this area, several makeshift shelters constructed from tarpaulins and salvaged materials are visible. Further back, numerous similar residential buildings line what appear to be streets or courtyards, many displaying signs of damage or wear. One individual, dressed in dark clothing, is observed walking on a dirt path within the central unpaved area. Overhead wires traverse the upper and middle portions of the scene. The sky is overcast. A partial view of a paved pathway is visible at the bottom of the image.
