Stake attention in this memory
An Orthodox prayer is inscribed on a rectangular piece of light-colored wood. The prayer is written in Old Church Slavonic script. The text reads: "Оберег от зла и бед. Ангеле Божий, хранителю мой святый, на соблюдение мне от Бога с небес данный! Прилежно молю тя: ты мя днесь просвети, и от всякаго зла сохрани, ко благому деянию настави, и на путь спасения направи. Аминь." This translates to: "Protect from evil and misfortune. Angel of God, my holy guardian, given to me by God from heaven to protect me! I pray to you earnestly: enlighten me today, and preserve me from all evil, guide me to good deeds, and lead me to the path of salvation. Amen." A cross with the inscriptions "IC XC" is prominently displayed at the top center of the wooden plaque. Decorative floral motifs are etched on the left and right sides of the plaque, framing the prayer. The wooden plaque has a slightly raised border. The background appears to be a textured fabric.
